On the 9th of July a limited group of 10 brown and black belts came together for a close up teaching course and Dan grading. The subject covered in the first 2 hours was the interchangeable stance structure giving more power through the level of body weight transition on impact., We then carried this forward into the teaching of Meikyo kata and showing the similarities in weight transition. This was also accompanied by Bunkai (Kata application) In the second part of the course we moved on to distance training in Kumite (sparring). we added pad work into the mix and finished with accurate take downs after gaining advantage of the distance and angles. This was all rounded off by a one hour gruelling 1st Dan grading. Well done to Chris on his Shodan.
